Project description - streamline the member join online process and check for existing member records

Business Profile:

Sunsuper was established in 1987 as an independent, Australian, multi-industry superannuation fund, based in Queensland. Today, Sunsuper has more than one million members around Australia and $14 billion* funds under management. 

Challenges:

  • To use technology in a way that reduces operational costs and improves member returns.
  • To replace an inefficient process, involving too much paper, slow transactions and outdated technology

Requirements:

Provide an online member join application that was easy for potential member to use, had a “save and retrieve” facility and integrated with the company’s back end administration system to check if the applicant was already a member.

Summary:

  • implemented Taten’s iApply Data Capture framework to provide an online joining process to streamline the member joining process and to reduce costs of member acquisition.
  • The solution provided a method of checking that the applicant wasn’t already a member. A workflow system routed the application through a different stream if the person joining was already a member – but with a different employer
  • One of the key technological smarts in the system is Taten's D2Bank - a database that has been designed with the sole purpose of aggregating information from external sources - in Sunsuper's case  - from their OMNI system.”
  • At any point in the process they can save their application and retrieve it later if they don’t have all the information at hand. Furthermore, if they drop out of the process and don’t complete the form, then Sunsuper can follow it up.”
